JUNIOR SCHOOL

Doveland High School first three-year programme consists of both academics and pre-vocational studies which prepare our students for Cambridge Checkpoints Examinations and Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE). The students in the Junior School are Years 7 to 9. The curriculum, at this stage, also focuses on creating the foundational knowledge, skills and attitude to thrive in the Senior School.

SENIOR SCHOOL

Students who have successfully completed Junior School are graduated into Senior School where they are streamed into Science, Engineering, Art or Commercial classes in accordance with the child’s performance and choice of subjects. The students in the Senior School are Years 10 to 12.

The students offer a combination of subjects which are carefully selected under the guidance of the Guidance Counsellor in line with their performance in various internal examinations as well as with respect to their ambitions in life. Parents are also very much involved at this stage of sensitive decision-making of their wards.

At the Senior High School, subjects are streamed into the following departments:

  1. Science
  2. Engineering
  3. Arts
  4. Commercial

The merging of the British and Nigerian curricula is more pronounced here than at the Junior School. Hence, many of the subjects offered at the stage would be written in both British and Nigerian certification examinations.

At the beginning in Year 10, all students are expected to offer 8 compulsory subjects and 4 elective subjects. However, as time goes on, students are encouraged to drop some subjects in order to be fully focused on their required subjects.
